Coledale is a small sea-side village approximately 18kms’ north of Wollongong. It sits directly between Austinmer and Wombarra and is 593 hectares or 6km2. It has a small population similar to Austinmer with 2,308 people calling it home equating to 3.98 persons per hectare.
Coledale is home to Coledale hospital which specialises in rehabilitation and dementia care for the elderly of the Illawarra. Coledale also offers a primary school situated on Lawrence Hargrave Drive, there are also 2 beaches with the main beach being patrolled during the summer months and Starkey’s beach which is used for surfing.
Coledale is home to the RSL club several shops and cafes and offers easy access to the Seacliff Bridge, Wollongong and Sydney.
